LW-127 AL-F flown by F/Lt G. Gardiner for 429 squadron over Mondeville
on July 18,1944.
They were hit by 2 x 500 lb bombs, one shearing off the stbd tail plane
and elevator.
4 crewmembers were able to bail out before it hit the ground.
