Nos. 438 & 439 Squadrons

Mr. Pugh was a mechanic and armour fitter with R.C.A.F.; and after the usual stint in England, landed on the beaches of Normandy just four days after D-Day. He accompanied several squadrons of the R.C.A.F. on their final march inland overtaking and making use of German Air Bases, captured by the Allied Invasion Forces. He continued to serve until repatriated home after VE Day.
