The Atlantic Canada Aviation Museum was founded in 1977. However, it was not until the mid 1980's that we moved into our present location, with the help of the Nova Scotia government. Since that time the Museum has grown to over 20 airframes and two buildings, representing an important cross section of aviation history in Atlantic Canada.
We house permanent and temporary exhibits that reflect the history of units that have called Greenwood home. The permanent displays encompass the early formation of the base in 1942 and proceed through the Lancaster, Neptune, Argus and Aurora eras. The history of Greenwood's present day squadrons: 14 AMS, 404, 405, 413, 415, 434 and 14 SES are proudly displayed in a special area set aside for the squadron historians.
The fundamental purpose of the museum is to acquire, conserve, organize, research and interpret for study, education and enjoyment, those artifacts and documents which best serve to exemplify the history of Canadian Maritime Military Aviation.
