No. 449 Squadron

Badge: In front of a pomme, a Unicorn's head couped

The squadron was formed on 1 April 1968 as No. 449 Maritime Training Squadron. This squadron has adopted a unicorn as its badge, like the creature itself its abilities are derived from the strengths of many parts from which it is composed. The pomme is in recognition of CFB Greenwood, the location where the new squadron was formed. The squadron was disbanded on 29 August 1975 with it duties being taken over by No. 404 Maritime Patrol Squadron.
